Over the course of the last few episodes, it has been noted that prior to Al-Baghdadi assuming power, Daesh was not as deviant as they are currently. In fact, they cooperated closely with other Mujahideen groups without any opposition. However, under the leadership of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and especially after 2014, Daesh started to descend further into deviant practices.
How did the war between Daesh and the Mujahideen in Syria begin?
If we look at the issue at hand closely enough, we come to the realization that the enmities first began when Baghdadi’s band attacked the Mujahideen in the middle of the night, causing numerous martyrdoms. This series of crimes continued until these followers of Ibn Muljim martyred a famous and renowned Mujahid who had fought for years and years against the Disbelievers in Afghanistan and various other lands, and the disbelievers had all failed to avenge their fallen by killing him.
Furthermore, on the 23rd of February 2014, they murdered Sheikh Khalid Al-Suri (May Allah have mercy on him), who had been appointed by Sheikh Ayman Al Zawahiri as a mediator between them.
Following Sheikh Khalid Al-Suri’s martyrdom, the Amīr of Jabhat Al-Nusra at the time, Sheikh Abu Muhammad Al Julani in an audio message declared a war against Daesh, and soon afterwards attacked them for the first time in the province of Deir ez-Zor.
After the war against Al-Nusra Front began, Daesh also openly started expressing their enmity towards other Mujahideen and Rebel groups in Syria.
