It is the Sunnah of Allah, the Almighty, that in every era He has sent His representatives directly or indirectly to every nation to eradicate falsehood (Batil), to distinguish truth (Haqq) from falsehood, and to uproot falsehood.

Allah, the Most High, has alluded to this in the Quran:

ولقد بعثنا في كل أمة رسولا أن اعبدوا الله واجتنبوا الطاغوت [النحل: 36]

Translation:

“And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): ‘Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e. do not worship Taghut besides Allah).'” [Quran, An-Nahl: 36]

When the line of Prophethood ended with Muhammad ﷺ, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, declared that the scholars are the inheritors of the prophets. The prophets do not leave behind gold or silver coins, but rather, they leave behind knowledge. Hence, it is the obligation of scholars, as inheritors of the Prophets, to confront the falsehood of their time diligently and eradicate it.

Each era has its own falsehood (Batil), thus it is incumbent upon the scholars to combat falsehood prevalent in their time. As during the time of Prophet Muhammad pbuh, falsehood (Batil) was in the form of polytheists, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, waged a 23-year struggle against them.

After Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) assumed caliphate, falsehood manifested in the form of those who refused to pay zakat, and he combated this form of falsehood.

During the time of Ali ibn Abi Talib, falsehood appeared in the form of the Kharijites and the Rawafidh, and Ali confronted them using both the sword and arguments.

During the time of the great Imam Abū Ḥanīfah, may Allah have mercy on him, falsehood manifested in the form of the Kharijites and the Mu’tazilah, so the Imam struggled against them.

In the time of Hazrat Imam Ahmed bin Hambal, may Allah have mercy on him, falsehood was in the form of the (خلق القران), and he opposed it.

From those times up to the present era where falsehood has taken various forms, the scholars dedicated to truth have consistently risen against it.

Hence, we urge the scholars of today to unite against the predominant falsehood of our time, namely the Khawarij (Daesh), and fulfill their duty to safeguard the next generation from this grave fitna (ISIS) that is currently plaguing the Muslim Ummah.

It is imperative for preachers, imams, and teachers to elucidate the reality of the contemporary Kharijites (ISIS) to the masses, detailing their beliefs, objectives, and the harm they have inflicted upon the Muslim Ummah and global jihadist factions.

The struggle against the Modern-Day Kharijites is not solely the responsibility of the Taliban. As it is a religious matter, every scholar who identifies themselves as the heir of the Prophet is obligated to educate and train their followers against them.
