Iraqi media reports indicate that, this week, 11 individuals have been executed in Iraq for their association with ISIS.

According to two Iraqi officials, it was reported by the media that these individuals were executed last Monday at al-Hoot prison in Nasiriyah city, and their bodies were subsequently transferred to the local health department.

This news comes amidst claims from various Iraqi media sources that Abu Laili Al-Iraqi, the Governor of Khawarij for Diyala, was killed in addition to a Daesh surgeon in a bombing in the Hamrin Valley of Diyala Province on Monday.

It is important to note that Iraq was a significant stronghold for the alleged ISIS-Khawarij caliphate, however, following their defeat in 2017, ISIS members in the country either fled to neighboring nations or went into hiding.

As a result of the infiltration of spies within ISIS ranks in Iraq, numerous ISIS operatives are apprehended or neutralized on a monthly basis through operations carried out by Iraqi security forces. Consequently, the ISIS terrorist organization has recently refrained from claiming responsibility for a majority of its activities in order to safeguard the lives of its combatants in the region.
